Yeti Filmed in Poland
Aug 31 2009, 11:47 AM EDT
I write this not to sound silly, but there is no way to discuss this aspect without taking a somewhat awkward stance.< All such pictures I have seen of these creatures from the rear seem to show what I call a "Teletubby" droop to the backside. (See the kiddie show from Australia, "Teletubbies".) In the Teletubby "suit", the actor wears leggings that stick out through the bottom of the body part (the tubby torso). Occasionally the "stuffing" around the bottom of the torso will sag, and the character's backside will show a distinct droop. < In looking at the historical range of Yeti and Bigfoot photos and stills from movies/videos, I have begun to notice a "Teletubby" droop at the backside when it is visible. Personally, I don't think there are only one or two Yeti or Bigfoot suits that are being carried around the world by a couple of very wealthy and totally demented fakers -- so that one or the other can take a turn putting on the suit and walking through while the other makes a film or takes a photograph. < I would also like to point out that from the rear, full grown silver-back gorillas have that backside droop. Look for it in other near-hominid animals as well. < My conclusion? The backside droop is an actual feature of these mountain creatures. I would recommend using this as a point of diagnosis as to determining if a video is authentic, or someone is in a costume. Do you find this valuable? |

Wealthy and totally demented fakers: If this is the same suit that has been making the rounds for decades, it should be moth-eaten by now. Here are some further thoughts on the subject of the Yeti, and its kin:< In Oriental art, Yetis have been depicted for centuries on wall scrolls and carvings of every sort and size. In the Americas, I am surprised that, according to the literature I have been able to get my hands on, no one has asked the descendants of the peoples who have been here for hundred of years what they have seen, and if there exist illustrations of them of one sort of another (any suggestions for titles I should look for?). < Costumes in general: Check the catalogs at places that sell or rent Halloween costumes. Talk to the salespeople. Go online. See what you can see. Does any of it match what you see in the videos? < Costumes specifically: However, there are cheapie gorilla suits that are all shaggy and fit like longjohns, that would give you the Yeti shape ("gracile", tall), but there is a zipper in the back! There are also costume gorilla heads that go on like ski masks. Unless you are in a cold climate, these suits become very warm, very fast. < The Epic of Gilgamesh: Enkidu is created by the gods in order to become a companion for Gilgamesh. He is described as having long hair from head to toe. Yet, when the hair is shaved off, under it all, he looks completely human. Let me play the devil's advocate here. In other stories, it is told how the gods created numerous beings in human form, to take over the work of the Anunaki in the gold mines of southeast Africa. Some of these early models could have escaped, and somehow made their way to Europe and Asia. (How they got to the Americas is something we will have to wait for Zechariah Sitchen to report to us.) Are these escaped creatures what we call Yetis today? Do you find this valuable? |
