lancesergeant, do you still practice this? I've heard all kinds of opinions about whether or not this is safe. I certainly believe it is possible to at least some extent. Back in the eighties I was injured and subsequently developed chronic migraine headaches. I watched a program on PBS about how to control your "chi." So, I started practicing. I came home from work one evening with a monster migraine. I was in such pain that all I could think about was getting out of my body. Long story short, my awareness of myself was about a foot above my head. I could see the top of my head, I could see everything in the bedroom. I guess that is out of body experience. Oh, I managed to escape the pain for a little while. But, being fearful of some kind of "attack" I didn't prolong the experience. Someone told me that if my spirit was out of my body, then my body was "open" to unwanted "visitors."

To penelopee: Is astral projection/travel a positive thing, natural and nothing to fear? I ask, as although I have read that it aids in personal development, and can help in this that and the other, with certain benefits, I have been hearing negatives as well. One was that if one was not careful they could be separated from their body and have trouble returning. Another, it was not natural and dangerous, leaving one open to psychic attack. That it was demonic etc etc. These detrimental comments weren't from the expected religious contributors but others who appeared to be level headed and sensible people and didn't give the impression of scaremongering.
I have read of interesting experiences in the OOBE state - if that is the right way to put it. The bad or negatives seem to also carry relevant some may say significant weight. What is your view on it? From someone who has actually been there, so to speak. |

I have had time slips and traveled out of the body. The time slip was in 1970 as well as the OOBE. I was amazed to actually feel the elements in my flight to the place I visited before actually going there. The time slip had me totally shocked and disoriented as I got up and got ready for a test in the morning and heard my alarm and woke up in bed. It was not a dream. Freaked me out and I felt out of sinc for hours afterwards.
I have had other travels into outer space until I read how dangerous that is and it stopped me. I had a memorable experience where I was falling in space for a long time and pretty fast. I noticed soft yellow orbs all around me but seemingly quite far away with a lot of blackness to infinity. It was fascinating at first until I thought I wasn't slowing or stopping and a voice said "You must stop or you will keep going." I did and felt the immensity of wherever I was like Infinity itself. I suddenly felt so alone but remembered the voice and I believe I asked what I was to do. Then I found myself at home in my bed feeling like I had been on quite a journey. It seemed like "inner space" and not like we think of "outer space." I haven't heard of another experience like mine yet. Again, it was not a dream. Hope this gives you another view of astral travel. What are your experiences? If you share, then others will be happy to share with you. |
