I don't know why I took an interest in this photo? I suppose that it caught my attention because it reminds me of the many Trail Cam photos that I have captured myself. Many times I have caught something that I just cannot explain. I would try as I might, and sometimes come up with reasonable possibilities, and other times just left scratching my head. We must always remember that cameras don't lie. They merely capture what is there.
The human eye on the other hand, sometimes sees what it wants to, then interprets that message to the brain. This is the idea behind the debunking method that I use when scrutinizing my own photos that contain images that are questionable. I try not to allow my eyes to be fooled and jump to conclusions.
Like I said above this photo just had that look about it, and seemed to warrant a closer inspection. I applied all of my same scrutinizing methods to this photo, as I do my own. Sometimes changing the color a bit, or inverting the colors is a valuable tool for allowing the human eye to see what's really there. By taking away a layer, or adding a layer, images that went un-noticed before suddenly become apparent.

Color De-Enhancement Photo
I place my De-Enhanced photo right below the original so everyone could see the comparison together.
This photo I took out most of the color. It appears to be black and white, but it does have some color to it. It looks sort of grainy, but I think by toning down the colors it makes it somewhat obvious that there is something else in the photo. Now, with that said, don't let your brain jump to conclusions. It's easy to make a blur or a smudge look like a ghost or a UFO. That's what our brains naturally want to do. We see something strange and the brain's immediate response is to find something in it's memory banks to compare it to. IE: It looks LIKE, so Therefore it MUST be a ????

Now comes the real shocker! Notice how Inverting the Colors of The Above Photo allows the human eye to outline the objects in the photo.
It's Not just a blurr anymore, is it.
Inverted Color Photo

As mentioned before, the camera only captures what is there.
The Human Eye can only interpret what it can focus on. Changing the colors or inverting them (black becomes white, and white becomes black) allows the eye to focus on outlines and shapes in a different manner than it would be able to do normally, without the aid of photo manipulation.
Is it a ghost? Is it real? You be the judge for yourself. The only thing that I'm prepared to tell you is this: That is
NOT smoke from the fire.
And the third object in the background does have it's own individual shape, just as the two obvious shapes on the left. Only difference is that the shape on the far right is more transparent, and not quite as obvious as the two on the far left.
*NOTE*
I am not in any way shape or form a professional photo analyst. I do this for my own benefit, and I feel that I have aquired certain skills for examining photos, and interpreting them in ways that most people wouldn't think of. This experience was gained as a side effect of debunking my own Trail Camera photos. Mostly out of nesessity, because lots of times no one was interested in them, and I didn't feel that I got an honest analysis from so called "Photo Experts"
With that, I decided to do it myself. I hope you enjoy my interpretation of this Beach Outing Photo. I have tried to give my best, and honest opinion.
To the taker of the photo> I hope you saved it? It may be the best one you will ever take!
