If something in an object as small as a black box can help in running the car, it justs vindicates Tesla. It hints that what has been kept back by the US Government is being kept back on influence of big wheels in the commercial world. Ultimately running it for their own greed and for the benefit of no one else. I don't believe that they will let anything out of the bag on mass because it would cause anarchy and uproar as well as a period of instability. Any release will probably like this in dribs and drabs as they may at the time feel appropriate.
