Although not as famous and recognizable as the Jamaica Inn or Borley Rectory, Krowe Hill is a name that has been lurking about the most haunted places in Britain.

The name was first mentioned in around 1733 in Kimmeridge, Dorset, near the south coast of England, in a diary found at the Smedmore Estate. The diary belonged to Phillip Clavell, who was a Lord in that county from 1723 to 1738. According to the diary he used to spend most of his days riding through his lands and neighbouring towns and villages, acting like some sort of Governor, making sure everything was in order. Most of the findings, exploring and problems he came across in the area were registered in the diary. Which also contained details about the estate, births, marriages and deaths of his family and those of his servants and all the events, social or private, that happened throughout the Lord's life.

The last third of the book, though, contains his darker days and new found obsessions with the occult and supernatural happenings and specially with a place called Krowe Hill.
