Morgellons Disease: Alien Introduced or Natural Human Syndrome? This is a featured page

Morgellons Disease is a mysterious skin disorder that was first described more than 300 years ago. The disease is characterized by multi-colored fiber-like (filamentous) strands extruding from the skin in conjunction with various dermatologic and neuropsychiatric symptoms. Some of these multi-colored fibers (filamentous) are of microscopic size, while others have the appearance of fibers and granules coming out of the skin that can be seen growing with the naked eye. The multi-colored fibers range in color: white, blue, black, red and are often regarded by the medical community as common house hold lint.

Some self-identified Morgellons sufferers and various conspiracy theorists provide their own origin hypotheses: "Perhaps it is caused by chemical spills or bio-terror or even alien abductions. On a radio program Coast to Coast a New Mexico doctor reports that a former CIA agent told him the disease was caused by the French. A botched government experiment, he says, contaminated the water.

Morgellons patients are skeptical that aliens are the cause of their disease, but have not ruled out the possibility completely. Many websites host "proof" that the fibers and granules found in the lesions and rashes are actually a successful attempt at alien invasion. Subscribers to this theory theorize that the fibers are a means of communication or an attempt at global positioning for aliens.

Evidence is beginning to mount linking Morgellons to Lyme Disease which can be caught from tick bites. Ginger Savely, a medical practitioner in Austin Texas, says she's seeing more and more patients in her clinic with the symptoms. Quoted in a local newspaper she said "Talking about it just sounds crazy, but there are just a lot of things that come out of their skin."

Savely specializes in Lyme Disease and believes there may be a link. She says that about 10 percent of her patients with chronic Lyme disease have symptoms of Morgellons. He theory is that people with the tick-borne Lyme Disease have weaker immune systems, and may be more vulnerable to the Morgellons infection.

The Morgellons Research Foundation says that forty-four people with Morgellons have tested positive for Borrelia burgdorferi (Bb), the bacteria which causes Lyme Disease. They believe that an infection with Borrelia burgdorferi (Bb) may alter the individual's immune system and allow this unknown organism to become an opportunistic coinfection.

So it seems there is in fact a real bug, or even a 'willing coalition' of bugs at large in the United States attacking innocent citizens, despite official denials. It also seems that it is the US medical establishment that is 'delusional', not their unfortunate patients.

If the majority of patients suffering with Morgellons disease are stressing that they do not believe the illness has anything to do with alien abductions, then chances are, the disease is not related. Unconsciously...they are ruling it out. That is important. Other than that, the only feedback I have is in regards to "doodleicious" comment....it appears to be a fungal infection and I agree with that train of thought! Just be greatful we do not suffer a fate similar to ants that have fungal infections! There is however a possibility that it was laboratory designed or derived from "alien" encounters. Foreign bacteria and viruses are something we should all get used to the idea of! I'm a student of molecular genetics and I hope we all have been learning NLP over the last few years!

oh my....i had a similar experience with strange skin eruptions....on seeking medical advice and being told it is all i your head or it is a staff infection and back to it is all in your head-i contracted this while living in Ketchikan, Alaska-to my mind tho-i considered this to me something more like a sort of fungal infection.....i have the scars to prove this strang skin malady-since moving back down to the lower 48..the symptoms have (i am happy to report) have subsided-but this skin thing was very real-very heartbreaking and never truly diagnosed.....i dread? will it come back? or is this truly over

Im involved in several legal cases that could change the course of the way civil litigation in this country ( USA ) is represented. I have dragged many corporate lawyers through the Supreme Court, and other lawyers who are guilty of malfeasance and negligence towards their clients. As this concerns chemical companies, I am the subject of their wrath and unlawful activities. If I prevail, and I will, this will change tort law. I must relay that after reading this article I became concerned because I was diagnosed with Lyme in March 2008. It is a severe case that is not responding to the usual course of antibiotics and has affected all major organs, my eyesight and hearing.
Heres the deal: There was never a tick bite. There was never a rash, there was never any indication at all that a tick was involved in my exposure to Lyme. Here is the concern: Many other people who are taking on the "system" are coming down with "Lyme". The same deadly strain of Lyme that I have. None of these people saw any physical manifestation of a tick bite. Not all live in tick infested areas. I am the last person to adhere to conspiracy theories. Lyme is not "white powder", it cant be traced. Lyme did not exist before 1976. Something to think about.
