Levels of Apparitions/Spirits/Etc.This is a featured page

From what I've experienced in my life I've found that there are different levels of what people term spirit. I'm not going to label them I'm just going to share what I've experienced. The first level is a thing that sometimes looks like a person that re-enacts a particular event, over and over again. Sometimes sound accompanies it like the bouncing of a ball or crying. I've found that these types of things are usually tied to some kind of negative event and is usually tied to a specific object or place.

The second are things that just seem to wander around and watch. I don't know what and they don't seem to be set into a pattern. They have no real emotions that I've seen they just wander and watch. If something catches there attention they watch.

The third is when they are able to manifest and somewhat communicate. This can be knocking, turning on and off lights or generally making a nuissance of themselves. Usually they only bother you when you do something they don't like.

The fourth are actually able to communicate. I had one "thing" tell me it's whole lifes story. Rather tragic indeed.

The fifth are evil and have evil intent. I try and stay away from those or cling to my faith and take care of them. They can cause bodily harm, possess people and generally make your life as miserable as possible. Some can even kill you.

I've seen these things my entire life. No I'm not a "medium" or at least I certainly would not attribute myself to that label. I certainly do not adovocate talking with the dead or dealing with their problems. I'm definetly not a "ghost whisperer" as the new series likes to promote. I just believe there are far more things in heaven and earth than can be readily explained, Horatio. Did I ever tell my parents, no way. Do I think I'm crazy. Nope, I've met too many people with the same experiences. Have I had other strangeness happen to me, oh yeah.

This being the time of the year that it is, it is a good time for telling ghost stories. Of course, what immediately comes to mind is "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens, but after reviewing the commentaries here at P&M about spectral encounters, I am tempted to redescribe Scrooge's visitors as entities rather than ghosts.
<
Somehow, it seems that either through dreams, visions, or the five senses, the dear departed want to let us know: There is an existence of the spirit after the physical "envelope" can no longer maintain the connection of "body and soul", so to speak.
<
Sometimes, I think some souls are at a point where they go on to the other side and remain there until they get a grip on what has happened; some decide to reincarnate because they miss the whole package of simply having a mortal existence. Some souls seem to commute throughout the generations, coming here then going there. And then there are the heartbreaking stories of the spirits of the departed who are stuck, attached to some location having to do with their past lives or their deaths.
<
Right now in my own family, I think there has been a reincarnation of my oldest sister as her own great-grandchild. He certainly has an ear for music already. And, like my sister, who fussed about her hair-do, he will not wear hats. I am waiting to see if in a few years he develops a taste for raw oysters and horseradish sauce, which was one of my sister's greatest treats that she would give herself.
<
All our faiths, whether they like it or not, have to deal with the existence of disembodied souls, entities, beings, what have you. I would hope that the "ghost stories" most of us encounter will have happy or peaceful endings.
