I captured some images on a trail camera two years ago, during deer season in Missouri. For those of you who aren't familiar, a trail camera or game camera is a digital camera mounted inside of a larger plastic box which is completely weather proof and is used to capture photos of animals during daytime or night. Some have a built in flash, other ones use an infared light source instead of a flash. The camera is usually activated by movement or heat. Mine has both.

With all of that being said here is my true story.

I had just bought my trail camera a few weeks before the season opened and I was still trying it out around my house and was having fairly good luck with it. I had managed to get photos of a few deer, some squirrels, crows, and a red fox. So, I took my camera to the property that we hunt on in northern Missouri. I was excited to put it out up there because we have lots of big deer there and some really good bucks. I set my camera out on a thursday and returned to it a few days later to see if I had captured any photos. I had indeed got a few pics. When I returned to my camper I quickly checked them out on a small portable black and white television that runs on a 12volt battery. I was thrown by what I saw. I did get a pic or two of some deer, but it was the picture of some very bright lights that really got my attention! There where two main light sources on the photo, one big and round like a basketball on the left side of the frame, and one about the same size except it was shaped more like a star on the right side of the frame. Both were way too far up in the sky amoungst the trees for them to be a person with a flashlight and two low for it to be an airplane. Besides, the lights were drifting through the trees, if it would have been a plane it would have crashed into the trees.

I've been asked many questions and even asked myself what if this and how about that? I can honestly say that I can find all kinds of answers as to what it isn't, but can't find any answers as to what it is?

It, or rather " they" aren't car headlights because our property is more than a mile off the nearest black top road. The only way in or out is by means of an old easement road that is always muddy and full of pot holes, and it wasn't any where close to my camera. The area where I set the camera up was in some of the thickest most densely wooded cover on the whole property. I purposely put it there because that's where the good deer trail was and to avoid human intrusion. My older brother and myself were the only ones who had ever gone in there and we were the only ones who knew where my camera was.

I'm posting this in hopes of getting some fresh new insight about these lights. I have sent them to several websites and paranormal investigators including one from Missouri. So far no one has been able to tell me much about them. Some say ghost lights, some say ball lightning, and some just have no idea at all. I do know one thing and that this is a truly unique and amazing photo which I have framed on my wall. Even though I probably won't ever know exactly what they are, it is still probably the most amazing picture I will ever get in my whole life. It's enough reward for me to know that it is 100% Real, authentic, and genuine in its own way, and I captured it on camera.

Please ask any questions or post any comments that you like. Hopefully, maybe someone out there has something to offer about this that I haven't thought of.

Notice all the small orbs in the photo, my camera was set to take 3 photo bursts, and then take nothing for a 1 minute delay. I have more pics of the before and after these images were captured.

I've added a new photo that was taken on the same camera during the same time frame as the "Lights", only that it was taken on a different night. With them side beside each other, you can see the height of the "Lights" in relation to the size of the deer. An average size whitetail deer is around 3ft. tall. This one is fairly big so it may be slightly taller than that.





These trailcam pics were submitted for the Phantoms and Monsters blog Mohunter. Here is some of the commentary: The new pic I just captured this past deer season. It has three deer in it, all looking at the camera at the same time, which is unusual. Deer don't usually all look in the same direction at the same time, some will have their heads down, or turned to one side or the other. Above the deer's heads in the middle, top, right of the pic you can see two red lights glowing. That's right, they are glowing, meaning that they are illuminated and reflecting a red glow on the leaves around them. You can see it when you zoom in on the pic. So, it's not a reflection off the inside of the camera lens.

There aren't any roads, trails, atv or otherwise, anywhere near where these pics were taken. I've already ruled that out. It's in the middle of the woods on our property, and there isn't any way possible for it to be an airplane or anything like that. Too many trees. It's just one of those pics that keeps you wondering, and realizing that there are things that we just can't explain. If only deer could talk? I bet they could tell us alot.
